We
Welcome to The Lion's Alcove! This blog is where I talk about a variety of matters I care about, most of them related to literature, art, history and theology. As a college student juggling a number of committments I don't have as much time currently to devote to this forum as I would like but I will post a few times each semester usually. I also post over on my Sci-Fi blog "The Sanctified Nerd" (see the social media links on the main page).
My motto here is "Read, Think, Roar" and points to the idea of consuming ideas (reading being a primary means), thinking on those ideas and then acting on them (roaring). It also makes the acronym "RTR" and as an Alabama Football fan I have ulterior motives you might say.

Browse around! I hope you like some of the things I have to say but feel free to engage in the comment section if you have rejoinders (just keep it civil).

God Bless!

The Author

My name is Daniel Mattaniah Gibson. I'm a native of Alabama, a homeschool graduate, Reformed Christian, and lover of Star Wars, westerns, history, Jules Verne and a devout fanatic of Leonard Wibberley.
I began writing as a kid and have never really stopped and I have no intention of ever doing so.
Art is my passion, especially art that tells a good story and reminds of the greatest story of all time. I also enjoy studying culture, both my own Southern and Appalachian culture and that of others.
Most importantly, I am a wretched sinner and rebel redeemed by a loving God. My beliefs are summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Scots Confession, which makes me a traditional Presbyterian for the most part.
